While returning from Alaska, M7 finds themselves followed by another jet. The jet flies into range, and by radio M7 is ordered to land. The other jet is 13 Duplicator-X duplicates, led by #51 who calls himself Xanos.
Thinking quick, Art calls Gravatar, who gives Art enough info to be able to bypass the computer security on the empty prison cell. The original Duplicator-X, although weak from hunger, is alive and inside.
M7 and the duplicates battle on the ground. Duplicator-X absorbs several of his duplicates to regain his strength. M7 is eventually able to knock out Xanos, and Duplicator-X is able to absorb him without resistance.
M7 re-boards their jet, and Sage is able to tow the other jet behind using Telekinesis.
At Duplicator-X’s request, M7 drops him off at the Carver Mental Health Institute in Minneapolis, to have his mental health evaluated and to prevent future rogue duplicates.
M7 finally returns to Kansas City. Helda finds that her business arch-rival, Alex Wright, has put slanderous commercials about her on the TV and radio. He has also stolen one of her contracts.
Art decides to invite Helda and Sage to formally join M7. Samus is uncertain that she wants to join.
The next day, Samus returns to M7 and asks to look at Dr. Crandall’s diagrams. After she inspects them for a while, Helda notices that Samus’ posture is different. She punches Samus and knocks her out. When Samus wakes up, her helmet is removed, revealing who is really in the Power Suit armor: Riot Girl. M7 questions her, but Helda then knocks her out again. Somehow, someone in the Rough Riders were able to capture Samus, or at the very least, give her location to some men who were very interested in her. Riot Girl was allowed to keep the suit as a reward, and Samus was hauled away, possibly to another planet.
After a short meeting, Art prepares to fly to the moon to hide the armor…
